Abstract

Plasmonic Au nanostructures have been widely used to enhance and control the electric field interacting with matter at optical frequencies. Recently, studies have also started to focus on enhancing and controlling the local magnetic field at optical frequencies. Recent work our lab has focused on controlling the local magnetic fields of visible and NIR light using plasmonic Au nano structures. We have developed Au nano-gunbarrel structures that demonstrate controllable magnetic field enhancement when illuminated with visible and NIR light. Here we demonstrate the construction of these devices using high-resolution electron beam lithography, as well as a potential method to probe magnetic field enhancement in the devices.
