Abstract

The effectiveness of remote access technology, specifically a Scanning Electron Microscope, combined with learning-labs was investigated as tool for engaging and retaining student interest in STEM in a middle school classroom. Student interest in and perceived value of science-related technology increased after the completion of the curriculum.
