Abstract

Higher education has become the key to a middle-class lifestyle within the United States over the last generation. This presentation argues that the attainment of higher education alone is not enough to ultimately elevate the living standards of those who attain a baccalaureate degree. The presentation emphasizes the significance of professional networks in enhancing the value of a Bachelor Degree, and points out that educational institutions and students alike can benefit from the growth of professional networks at colleges and universities, both in support of the advancement of students’ careers, but also in the continual engagement of alumni with their respective institution.
