Abstract

For my poster I plan to design an image for a recent skate film I made, called “Pool Diet.” The film documents backyard pool skateboarding today. I have been skateboarding for the past 15 years, it is my life and passion. Over the years I have taken some heavy injuries, so I started leaning towards documenting it with my camera. I have really been trying to push myself to film more or take photos but it is just hard for me to stay off a board. About a year ago, I released the first issue of my skateboard zine called Solitude. I was never intending on making a video, but I ended up having almost all the tricks in the magazine on film, so I thought it would be a cool to mash everything together. After setting up “Pool Diet,” I knew I was onto something that really fascinated me. So I kept trying to take more videos every time I went out to skate. A year later, I released Solitude issue 2, as well as “Pool Diet Vol.2.” This day in age it’s hard to sell magazines, people would rather watch a video’s online for free. In the end, it’s not about the money or the views, I am just doing what I love and hopefully people will enjoy it. So I have been burning DVDS and selling copies with each zine. I wanted to create a “Pool Diet” poster for the SCCUR in hopes of getting the name out there
