Abstract

My research has shown that disposable products are convenient for people’s life, but they also put a great burden on the natural environment. Most people use disposable products like cups and plates and straws every day making the cumulative amounts of disposable products a huge number. Most disposable products are not recyclable, and even bottles, though recycled, are still a huge contributor to global waste. The products that are not recycled can only be burned, buried or even thrown into the sea.

“Plastic bags are often used once before enjoying an eternal afterlife, clogging storm drains, stuffing landfills, killing animals that eat them and contributing to the 8 million metric tons of plastic that end up in the world’s oceans every year.” (the New York times)

These disposable products cannot be decomposed in a short time, which continues to cause serious damage to nature; littering the land, floating on the sea, and eaten by animals. Many people are aware of this problem; some artists have designed works to warn people, like Von Wong.

For my work, I use illustrator to depict a wedding on white trash. I want to draw people's attention by comparing what I think is the most beautiful part of human beings: love, with pollution, so that people can reduce the use of disposable products. The color of the poster tends to be cool, mainly grey, blue, white and red.

My research poster will present these findings, and was inspired by works by Von Wong.

It will only present the final product, and it will be A graphic arts piece.
