Abstract

Visual art can be used to create awareness and interpret data to the public in a visually appealing way. For this piece, my data looks at three specific years, 2007-2009, of super bowl commercials. I selected the top three categories of ads (alcohol, food and beverage, and automobile). With these categories, I focused on the amount of money spent in each category and the number of advertisements shown for each category. This date was found through the article Information content of Super Bowl commercials 2001-2009. With some of this information and more that is to be gathered, I will create a poster that will show the consumer what they are watching during the Superbowl and give them insite as to how and it has changed over the years.
